UOSAT-2 (UO-11), built by the University of Surrey and launched in 1984, part of the pioneering UOSAT series that helped establish the modern small-satellite industry. It carried a synthesized-voice payload and digital store-and-forward messaging — technology demonstrations that directly seeded what became Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd, now one of the world's most prolific small-satellite manufacturers.
