The third MILSTAR Block II satellite, completing the original MILSTAR constellation design. MILSTAR-2 satellites provide protected communications for strategic nuclear forces, tactical battlefield commanders, and fleet submarines simultaneously — a single satellite supporting everything from nuclear deterrence to close air support coordination. It represents the last generation before AEHF made MILSTAR obsolete.
