One of the original O3b (Other 3 Billion) satellites — a constellation concept created specifically to bring broadband connectivity to developing nations and remote maritime regions. FM-5 is part of the original O3b Fleet constellation that now operates as SES Networks' medium Earth orbit broadband service. O3b targets maritime cruise ships, remote island communities, and enterprise customers in emerging markets where terrestrial and GEO satellite broadband is too slow, too expensive, or unavailable.
