Lead satellite of the Shijian-6 04 pair, launched in 2010 to extend China's long-running space radiation monitoring program. By this fourth generation, Shijian-6 data had been feeding Chinese satellite design standards for radiation hardening for the better part of a decade, part of the unglamorous but essential research underlying every operational Chinese spacecraft's ability to survive its mission life.
