A joint Singapore-Taiwan satellite providing C and Ku-band services across Southeast Asia and the Indian Ocean. ST-2 covers the Strait of Malacca — one of the world's most strategically important shipping chokepoints, through which 25% of global seaborne trade passes annually. Maritime satellite communications for the thousands of vessels transiting Singapore's waters, combined with broadcasting and enterprise services across Southeast Asia, make ST-2's position at 88°E commercially and strategically significant.
