The eighth CYGNSS spacecraft completes the tropical belt coverage. CYGNSS has since found a second life mapping floods — detecting inundation in the Amazon and Mekong deltas faster than any previous system. A hurricane hunter that became a flood detector: space missions rarely stay confined to their original purpose.
