One of the 66 Iridium NEXT satellites launched between 2017 and 2019, replacing a constellation whose 1990s-era satellites were beginning to fail faster than replacements could be built. The full replacement campaign required eight dedicated SpaceX Falcon 9 launches — one of the largest and most technically ambitious satellite replacement projects any commercial operator has ever undertaken.
