One of the later Iridium NEXT satellites launched in the 2018-2019 completion phase of the constellation's replacement campaign, providing global mesh-network satellite communications. Iridium remains the only commercial satellite operator offering genuinely uninterrupted pole-to-pole coverage, a defining technical advantage over regionally optimized competitors.
