The first of SiriusXM's next-generation satellite radio spacecraft, built to replace aging earlier satellites. SXM-7 provides the full SiriusXM channel lineup — over 150 channels of commercial-free music, news, sports, and entertainment — to subscribers in vehicles, homes, and on mobile apps. Following its December 2020 launch, it suffered a partial power failure but remained usable. SiriusXM's GEO satellite architecture allows a single car satellite radio antenna to receive programming across the entire North American continent.
