GeeSAT-1 (09), part of GEESATCOM — the satellite IoT constellation built and operated by Geespace, a subsidiary of the Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, the automotive conglomerate behind Volvo, Polestar, and the Geely car brand. Remarkably, this makes Geely the world's first car manufacturer to build and operate its own satellite constellation. This satellite provides a satellite bus designed to deorbit and disintegrate completely at end of life, leaving no debris behind — a design commitment Geely has publicized as central to the program. By late 2025 the constellation had grown to 64 satellites, with a 240-satellite full deployment planned.
