Shiyan-25 (SY-25), continuing China's long-running Shiyan technology demonstration series, launched into an unusually specific 96.87° orbit to test new satellite bus and sensor systems ahead of future operational Chinese satellite generations. China's Shiyan program has run for well over a decade, and by satellite number 25 has become one of the country's most consistently active experimental satellite lines, feeding lessons learned into operational spacecraft across nearly every category.
