Monitor-3 (RS58S), part of a roughly 40-satellite cluster of Russian university and amateur radio CubeSats launched together on June 27, 2023 aboard the same Soyuz rocket carrying the Meteor-M2-3 weather satellite. This satellite is carrying basic telemetry and imaging payloads typical of first-generation university CubeSats — proof-of-concept missions meant to validate that a small team can successfully design, build, and operate a working spacecraft before attempting anything more ambitious.
