One of the SDA's Tranche 0 Tracking Layer satellites, deployed as part of the second and larger of two 2023 launches that established the demonstration constellation's initial capability. WILDFIRE 6 and its seven siblings validated wide-field-of-view infrared missile detection from low Earth orbit — a capability previously demonstrated only from geostationary altitude by systems like SBIRS, now proven viable from a dramatically cheaper and more numerous constellation architecture.
