FORMOSAT-7R (Triton), a Taiwanese satellite specifically built to monitor ocean surface wind speed using GNSS reflectometry — reading how GPS and other navigation signals bounce off the ocean surface to measure wave height and wind conditions, data particularly valuable for tracking typhoons approaching Taiwan before they make landfall.
