The 17th SuperDove satellite in Planet Labs' Flock 4BE batch, launched on SpaceX's Transporter-11 rideshare mission in August 2024 alongside Planet's first hyperspectral satellite Tanager-1. Flock 4BE 17 carries Planet's PSB.SD sensor — an 8-band, 47-megapixel imager producing 3-meter resolution imagery across a 20 × 12-mile swath. As one node in a constellation of 200+ active SuperDoves, it contributes to Planet's ability to image nearly every point on Earth's landmass every single day. The individual satellite name is anonymous; it's the constellation that matters — 200 shoebox-sized cameras circling the planet, together producing a continuous daily photograph of the entire world.
