NuSat-50, part of Satellogic's commercial Earth observation constellation, named after Nancy Roman, NASA's first chief astronomer, whose advocacy in the 1960s and 70s laid the institutional groundwork that eventually made the Hubble Space Telescope possible — NASA later named its next major flagship space telescope directly after her. Satellogic names most of its satellites after historical women scientists — a deliberate, ongoing pattern across the entire fleet.
