ASRTU-1, also carrying the amateur-radio designation AO-123, is a Russian-Turkish collaborative CubeSat built by Kazan National Research Technical University (KNRTU, sometimes referenced as HIT), launched November 4, 2024 as part of Russia's large Vostochny rideshare mission (COSPAR 2024-199) alongside the primary Ionosfera-M scientific payloads. Registered as an OSCAR amateur radio satellite, ASRTU-1 supports ham radio operators worldwide in addition to any student-engineering objectives, reflecting the mixed academic-and-hobbyist character common to CubeSats built through international university partnerships.
