An AsiaSat commercial communications satellite serving the Asia-Pacific broadcasting and broadband market. AsiaSat, owned by private investors and formerly by a Hong Kong consortium, provides C and Ku-band services to customers across 53 countries in the Asia-Pacific. Its orbital position provides excellent coverage of China, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and Australia from a single satellite — one of the most commercially valuable coverage areas in the world for satellite services.
