The satellite currently receiving life-extension services from Northrop Grumman's MEV-2 spacecraft — docked directly to it in geostationary orbit. IS-10-02 sits at 1°W and is jointly branded as Thor 10-02 for Telenor Satellite's European customers, distributing over 900 television channels to approximately 18 million TV households across Europe. Rather than retire a healthy satellite that simply ran low on fuel, Intelsat partnered with Northrop Grumman — MEV-2 is literally providing the thruster services IS-10-02 can no longer provide itself.
