A Saudi Arabian educational satellite carrying digital store-and-forward communications for amateur radio use. Its technology allows radio signals to be received by a passing satellite and re-transmitted hours later when over a different part of the globe — a technique used in remote environmental monitoring and emergency communications where real-time links aren't possible.
