GPS BIIRM-6 (PRN 07), launched in 2007, continues the steady generational replacement of the GPS constellation. Six Block IIR-M satellites had reached orbit by this point, each replacing an older Block II or Block IIA satellite reaching the end of its operational life — GPS constellation management functions like continuous infrastructure renewal, never letting the system's core positioning capability lapse even as individual satellites age out one by one.
