South Korea's first SAR satellite delivers 1-meter radar imagery regardless of weather or darkness. It monitors North Korean facilities at night and through cloud cover that would make any optical satellite completely blind — adding an all-weather capability that fundamentally changed Korea's sovereign surveillance options.
