One of the Iridium NEXT satellites launched in a 2018 batch, continuing the systematic eight-launch replacement of Iridium's original constellation. Each satellite in the network can relay calls and data to its neighbors via inter-satellite links, creating a genuinely global mesh network unlike almost any other commercial satellite system in operation today.
