Third satellite completing the first Yaogan-31 triplet, launched December 2018. Yaogan-31's addition to China's naval ELINT architecture came as the lower-altitude Yaogan-30 program was already deploying multiple triplet generations per year, reflecting a dual-track expansion of China's ocean surveillance capability across two different orbital altitude bands simultaneously.
