BeiDou-3 M11, launched alongside BeiDou-3 M12 in 2018, continues China's rapid constellation completion. Each new satellite in this launch wave brought BeiDou-3 measurably closer to the June 2020 completion date that made China only the third nation, after the US and Russia, to independently operate a fully global satellite navigation system — with the European Union as the fourth shortly after.
