SharjahSat-1, the United Arab Emirates' first university-built satellite, developed by students at the American University of Sharjah as part of the UAE's rapidly expanding national space education programs. The UAE's rapid space ambitions — from this modest student CubeSat to the country's Hope Mars orbiter and its own national astronaut corps — represent one of the fastest space program buildouts any nation has attempted in the modern era.
