Shiyan-19, continuing China's long-running Shiyan technology demonstration series, launched in 2023 to test new satellite bus and sensor systems ahead of future operational Chinese satellite generations. The Shiyan program's decades-long run — now in its high teens numerically — makes it one of China's most consistently active experimental satellite lines, feeding lessons learned into nearly every category of Chinese operational spacecraft that followed.
