TeLEOS-2, part of Singapore's national Earth observation program, delivering SAR imagery for maritime surveillance and disaster monitoring across Southeast Asia's frequently cloud-covered tropical skies, where optical satellites are blind for much of the year.TeLEOS-2's radar imaging capability gives Singapore continuous surveillance of the busy shipping lanes through the Strait of Malacca regardless of the tropical cloud cover that blinds optical satellites for much of the year in this region.
