The first second-generation NavIC satellite, incorporating significantly upgraded atomic clocks and a new L1 signal compatible with GPS and Galileo. NVS-01 enables dual-frequency reception — comparing L1 and L5 signals to cancel ionospheric errors that limit single-frequency GPS accuracy to 3-5 meters. With dual-frequency NavIC, India's navigation system achieves sub-meter accuracy autonomously, without augmentation from ground networks.
