HAWK-8A, part of HawkEye 360's radio frequency geolocation satellite constellation — instead of taking pictures, HAWK satellites triangulate the location of radio, radar, and satellite phone signals from the ground, letting the company map illegal fishing vessels that turn off their AIS transponders, unauthorized radio broadcasts, and even jamming sources, all invisible to any camera-based satellite.
