China's third and most advanced Fengyun-4 geostationary weather satellite, expanding the constellation to provide comprehensive coverage across Asia and the Indo-Pacific. FY-4C introduces further improvements in imaging cadence and accuracy, with a scanning period fast enough to track individual thunderstorm cell development every minute. Together the three FY-4 satellites form the most capable Chinese geostationary weather constellation ever, with coverage matching the sophistication of GOES and Meteosat systems.
