The world's most used amateur radio satellite, SaudiSat-1C (SO-50) has been connecting ham radio operators across continents since 2002. Its 2-meter FM repeater can be used by any licensed amateur radio operator on Earth — just like a radio tower, but 425 miles up. On any given day, hundreds of operators worldwide make contact through SO-50. It's the classic first satellite contact target for new hams learning to work with orbiting repeaters.
