The companion satellite to Shijian-6 01A, flying together to measure how the orbital radiation environment varies across different positions in low Earth orbit. By operating two spacecraft simultaneously, Chinese researchers can distinguish spatial from temporal variation in particle flux data — separating what changed geographically from what changed over time, a distinction impossible to make with a single satellite alone.
