GPS BIIR-13 (PRN 02), launched in 2004, is the final original Block IIR satellite, completing a dozen-satellite generation built specifically to keep the GPS constellation at full strength through the early 2000s. Its PRN 02 code has been reassigned and reused across GPS history — pseudo-random noise codes are a limited resource shared and recycled as older satellites retire and new ones take their orbital slots, a detail almost no GPS user ever thinks about but that engineers manage constantly.
