Indonesia's first satellite, built with German assistance at TU Berlin. The collaboration was as important as the satellite — Indonesian engineers trained in Berlin brought expertise that seeded Indonesia's domestic satellite industry. For the world's largest archipelago, where satellite observation is uniquely critical, this was a genuine foundation.
