GPS BIIRM-5 (PRN 29), launched in 2007, extends Block IIR-M coverage further across the GPS constellation's six orbital planes. Each satellite orbits at roughly 12,550 miles altitude, completing two full orbits of Earth every day — a deliberate orbital period chosen so that each satellite passes over the same ground track at the same sidereal time daily, making the constellation's coverage pattern precisely predictable decades in advance.
