A DirecTV high-power satellite at 99°W extending coverage and capacity for DirecTV's US service. DirecTV-11's position at 99°W allows subscribers' dishes to receive it alongside the primary 101°W satellites without repointing — the same dish covers both positions, effectively doubling the available channel capacity seen from each home. This co-location strategy enabled DirecTV to offer local channels from hundreds of US markets simultaneously.
