Flying as close as 150 meters from TerraSAR-X, TanDEM-X performs radar interferometry with two spacecraft acting as one giant antenna. Together they produced the TanDEM-X World DEM: the most precise global elevation model ever made, measuring Earth's surface height to within 2 meters everywhere on the planet.
