Azerbaijan's first national satellite, a symbol of the country's post-Soviet development and its ambition to establish itself as a regional hub for satellite communications. AzerSpace-1 provides direct-to-home TV broadcasting and broadband services across Azerbaijan, Central Asia, the Caucasus, and parts of Europe. Its coverage of former Soviet republics reflects Azerbaijan's effort to become a satellite connectivity provider across the Caspian region.
