A Hispasat satellite providing additional Ku-band capacity for the Americas with specific focus on Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia — the Andean nations where topography makes terrestrial connectivity exceptionally difficult. Mountain communities across the Andes depend on satellite links for telephone service, internet access, and emergency communications in terrain that makes fiber cable economically impossible and microwave links geometrically challenging.
