The twin to Hodoyoshi-3 adds video from orbit capability — capturing HD video of Earth's surface from a microsatellite. Hodoyoshi-4 proved commercial off-the-shelf components and university-developed software could deliver cinema-quality Earth video at drastically lower cost than traditional programs, launching Japan's commercial space video industry.
