Japan's Hodoyoshi ('Diligent') microsatellite pushed small satellite boundaries, demonstrating 6.7-meter resolution optical imaging from a 65 kg spacecraft — competitive with satellites costing ten times more. Its success seeded AxelSpace's commercial Earth observation constellation and Japan's commercial small satellite industry.
