GSAT0208 (Galileo 11), launched alongside GSAT0209 in December 2015, is part of Galileo's ongoing constellation expansion. Galileo satellites broadcast on frequencies deliberately designed to be compatible and interoperable with GPS, meaning a single modern smartphone chip can combine signals from both systems simultaneously — more visible satellites means faster position locks and better accuracy in difficult environments like dense cities.
