GSAT0207 (Galileo 15), launched November 2016, is part of a four-satellite Galileo launch — the first time Europe deployed four navigation satellites on a single rocket, using an Ariane 5 specifically modified for the mission, dramatically accelerating the constellation's path toward full strength compared to the pairs Soyuz rockets had previously carried. Ariane 5's four-satellite Galileo missions were specifically engineered so each spacecraft separates cleanly without risking a collision with its three launch-mates, a delicate sequencing challenge unique to multi-satellite navigation deployments.
