An EchoStar Ku-band satellite at 45°W providing broadcasting and enterprise services for the Brazilian and Latin American market. EchoStar-23 represents EchoStar's expansion beyond its North American DISH base into international commercial satellite services. Its South Atlantic position provides strong coverage of Brazil — the most important Latin American satellite market — from a position optimized for the country's geographic extent.
