Part of China's expanding Jilin-1 commercial imaging constellation, launched in 2018 as Chang Guang continued building toward its stated goal of 138 satellites by 2025 — a target the company later expanded to 300. Jilin-1 07 contributes to the constellation's core mission of providing sub-meter resolution imagery with increasingly frequent global revisit, competing directly with Western commercial operators like Planet and Maxar.
