RCM-1 (RADARSAT Constellation Mission), one of three identical Canadian radar satellites flying in tight formation to provide daily revisit of Canada's entire territory and surrounding waters — including the Arctic, where Canada uses the constellation to monitor sea ice for shipping safety and to assert sovereignty over its enormous, sparsely populated northern coastline.
