The third Tiantong satellite completing global coverage for China's mobile satellite phone network. With three satellites, Tiantong provides continuous coverage across Asia and the Pacific — giving Chinese users anywhere in the hemisphere satellite voice and data services on Chinese-controlled infrastructure. The complete Tiantong network gives China full independence from Inmarsat and Iridium for the mobile satellite communications that military and remote operations depend upon.
