One of Russia's newest commercial communications satellites, part of the modernization of Russia's aging geostationary commercial fleet. Express AMU-3 provides Ku and Ka-band services for Russian customers, replacing capacity from earlier satellites approaching end of life. Russia has faced significant challenges procuring satellite components under sanctions, making domestic satellite manufacturing capability increasingly strategic.
