GeeSAT-1 (06), part of GEESATCOM — the satellite IoT constellation built and operated by Geespace, a subsidiary of the Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, the automotive conglomerate behind Volvo, Polestar, and the Geely car brand. Remarkably, this makes Geely the world's first car manufacturer to build and operate its own satellite constellation. This satellite provides centimeter-level positioning for autonomous driving, one of the core services Geely's car brands are betting their self-driving future on. By late 2025 the constellation had grown to 64 satellites, with a 240-satellite full deployment planned.
